Hosting Your Own GameGuard

i. You need to download AppServ... http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/apps ... e?download

ii. Now install appserv… there should be something about root passwords and about an email. Just put your email and a password

iii. Now that you have installed the program you will need the files for the ryl2 GG files...

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=CZTI3QN0

iv. Now that you have the gameguard files that is needed... you
need to extract them into your main appserv folder... target link
should look like C:\AppServ…

v. Now you want to go to your host file… for the ones who do know
where it is located the target line should look similar to
this…C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc in there should be a file titles
host… when you open it use the program note pad… there should be an IP
in there followed with “nprotect.battlelands.net” change the IP that Is
in front of that to “127.0.0.1” it should look like “127.0.0.1
nprotect.battlelands.net”

vi. Now you want to go into your Start Menu and look in the AppServ
location in your program list you want to look under the sub folder
title “Apache Control Server” you want to open the “Apache Monitor” you
want to make sure this is running…

vii. Now the last thing to do is to start your game… and have fun...

and yes i have the rights to take this from the tartarus forums... being that it was originally my guide..
